Off the beaten path, La Paz is a the largest city on the southern Baja Peninsula of Mexico. La Paz is the kind of place where Mexicans take their families on vacation and does not have the “typical” vacation resort feeling like other places promoted and “designed” by Fonatur, the Mexican tourism development agency. Accommodations and activities are reasonably priced compared to more popular beach resorts. There’s enough nightlife and good dining to keep you entertained after the sun goes down and the Malecon (seaside walkway) is the focal attraction frequented by pedestrians of all persuasions.
